*Job Description**:*
*Requirements*
- Minimum 8+ years experience
- Day-to-day UDB/Oracle administration on Linux & Sun Solaris platforms
- Production as well as non-production(Dev/QA/DR) support
- Participate in FTS (Follow-The-Sun) support model
- Global database replication
- Managing Disaster Recovery site – Oracle Data Guard, UDB HADR
- In depth performance tuning – Partitioning, Stats lock, etc…
- Oracle Exadata
- In-depth knowledge in building infrastructure("setting up shop") for
large databases
- Develop procedures for database monitoring, maintenance, backup,
recovery and automated alerts based on server thresholds and events
*Database and Middleware Ops - DBA*
- In-depth knowledge in different disaster-recovery and warm-backup
schemes, procedures, and implementation using RMAN essential
- Develop maintenance regimes
- Expert in tasks automation
- Establish standards and procedures
- Scripting language (ksh, perl)
- Create and implement security models
- Strong concept in software engineering/development methodology
- Support development & production
- Be able to work with other Infrastructure teams such as Unix/Windows
admins on optimal hardware and software purchase and configuration for
database servers
- Server, query, application performance tuning
- Logical & physical database design
- Experience working & advising developers on best practices and
application process design
- Familiar with application migration procedures and practices
- Must be able to work both independently, and in a team environment
- Have good communication skill, ability to think clearly and act quickly
in pressure situations, ability to multi-task and change focus quickly.
*Preferences*
- Financial industry experience big plus
- College degree in Computer Science or related degree
*Pluses*
- DBA knowledge on other RDBMSs such as Sybase, MS-SQL, MySQL, etc…
- Experience supporting PeopleSoft Financial
- PRIOR Experience in programming (*But must have solid DBA experience
foremost, ie, performing 100% DBA work in the last five years)
