Position: Voice/ Telephony/VOIP Engineer

Contract: 6 months+

Location: Fairfax, VA

*Description:*

This position is responsible for the continuous operation and performance
of the enterprise voice and office LAN infrastructure, and provides
technical expertise in the day-to-day engineering of the IP Telephony and
IP Contact Center environments. The person in this position will need to be
able to work directly with outside telephone service providers to
troubleshoot outages both off-site and on-site and is responsible for the
installation, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of all telephone
equipment at all office locations. This individual will also analyze and
resolve communications problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and
provide documentation and end user training where required.

*Principle Duties and Responsibilities:*

Ø  Responsible for the design, installation, modification, testing and
troubleshooting of Cisco Unified Communications network.

Ø  Performs timely engineering reviews and planning of maintenance and
upgrades for existing IPT Infrastructure (hardware and software).

Ø  Monitors the performance of installed IPT infrastructure, and identifies
any resulting impacts on other technologies.

Ø  Must have knowledge of industry best practices, trends and benchmarking
regarding processes, services and engineering solutions and make
recommendations to management on improvements for IT.

Ø  Assesses performance of installed technologies, analyzes data,
identifying any unusual findings and escalates as appropriate.

Ø  Create and document all actions, practices, procedures and processes

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:

Ø  *Telephony - 5 year(s)*

Ø  *Expert understanding of the following Cisco Unified Communication
Products: Call Manager (versions 7.x – 9.x), Unity Connection, SRST, ATA's,
VG224’s, Transcoding, Dial Peer configuration, and Digit manipulation and
Dial Plan design.*

Ø  *Provides connectivity and network support to LAN/WAN communications.*

Ø  *Expertise with Voice Protocols and Media: H.323, H.248, SIP, MGCP,
SCCP, RTP/RTCP, Voice Codec troubleshooting and design.*

Ø  *Cisco expertise in network design, operational support, implementation,
configuration of Routers, Switches, Wireless Controllers, access points and
cabling in a large enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN environment.*

Ø  *Knowledge of Cisco Switches: Layer 2 & 3 Switching, 802.1q Trunking,
Channeling, HSRP.*

Ø  *Minimum 5 Years of Cisco Voice experienc*
