SR. DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT Location: McLean, VA Duration: 2 Months (Possible Extension) The Development Consultant will be part of the Financial Modeling and Analytic Services Support Team in the Corporate Systems IT Department. The team develops and maintains various systems that implement, execute, or support models developed by Models and Research and ICM Analytics business area. The developer will work with the groups in primarily models, research, and investments and Capital Markets (ICM) business areas and the IT teams to develop, enhance, and maintain applications for small to medium sized projects. *Requirements:* The position requires a Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired, and ten years of system applications development experience. *Required skills: * · Java/J2EE, Weblogic/Tomcat, Sybase/Oracle/DB2, UNIX *Additional skills:* · C/C++,Matlab, SAS *The following experience is required:* · Hands-on extensive Server and UI application development including a working knowledge of technologies like Java, J2EE, and other distributed technologies. · Extensive knowledge of Application and Web Servers such as Weblogic and Apache Tomcat. · Extensive experience using relational databases using JDBC such as Oracle, DB2, Sybase and MySql databases. · Extensive experience in Unix, Solaris, and Linux operating systems. · Extensive knowledge and experience with Unix shell scripting, Perl, Autosys, and SQL. · Proficiency in object-oriented application design and integration patterns and ability to apply design patterns to solve technical problems. · Knowledge and experience in full Software Development Life Cycle methodologies and best practices. · Good oral and written communication skills. · Knowledge of primary and/or secondary mortgage markets. The candidate must be able to work within a well-documented project methodology such as SDLC or Our Client’s EDM. A detailed knowledge of fixed income securities and analytics, and experience of working with fixed income trading desks and modeling areas is preferred.
