Role: *System Engineer* Location: Chicago, IL (Need Locals) Duration: 6+ Months Client: United Airlines Immediate Interviews : Face to Face End to end responsibility for server operations, including OS, hardware, patching, firmware, bios, and service packs. Maintain and manage server hardware and software to ensure stability and availability 24X7X365. Ensure enterprise standards and security are maintained and enforced on hardware/software. Provide knowledge and troubleshooting expertise during incidents and problem management follow-up. Provide problem resolution and advice on problem avoidance, institute changes or update to ensure stability. Provide consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and systems programming. Implement releases, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment. Ensure platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning. Duties may include capacity planning, workload modeling, system maintenance/administration, and diagnostics. Ensure the availability, performance, and operational integrity of services within their domain. Communicates the business impact and ensures the right resources are engaged in incident management to quickly resolve operational issues. Uses knowledge of United Airlines’ business to drive out solutions for both tactical and strategic direction within their domain. Acts as an escalation point when resolution cannot be achieved at a Manager / team lead level. Demonstrates accountability for the performance and results of their domain relative to goals and service levels.
