*Title : Java developer* *Location : Shelton, CT* *Duration : 12+ months* * * *Only GC or USC or EAD.* *Job description:* The Java Developer is responsible for leading design, development and implementation projects and assisting in setting coding and procedural standards in case management, website and other business applications. Position Responsibilities: • Ensure the foundation of our case management applications is robust and flexible in order to support our continuing business changes. • Committed to producing code that is structured, scalable, and reusable. • Must understand and commit to implementing systems that successfully address issues surrounding high user volume, high concurrency and high performance and throughput. • Ensure and commit to implementing components that support and enhance our system architecture and framework. • Continually update knowledge regarding new technologies related to building systems and applications in our environments. • Commitment to continuous improvement of existing architecture and framework as defined by IT Development management. • Participate in design discussions regarding the component architecture. • Ensure delivery of desired results by maintaining extensive knowledge and understanding of industry technology standards. • Highly motivate and proactively initiates and participated in design sessions making sure to build software components that conform to the approved database design. • Commitment to the seamless integration and compatibility of our products. • Ensure the highest quality client satisfaction by providing ongoing product support, including bug fixing and performing table entry maintenance. • Responsible for release control and component implementation. • Ensure quality by managing quality control, change control and system documentation efforts. • Any and all other responsibilities as assigned by management. Skills and Competencies: • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. • JAVA/J2EE developer with 3 to 5 years of Web Java development and excellent analytical skills. • Experience with Apache, Tomcat server and knowledge of UNIX. • Experience in source control and defect tracking system. • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently with good problem solving skills. • PL/SQL skills and good knowledge of relational databases.
