Position: *Application Developer JAVA/J2EE * Location: Nashville, TN Duration: 4+ Months Need LOCALS Role Summary Participates in the support and development of major new clinical applications. Project is utilizing cutting edge technologies (combination of open source and commercial software) to create the next generation application framework for the 21st century health care marketplace within a collaborative and flexible culture. We are looking for development talent who can work as part of an agile team comprised of System Analysts, Developers and Quality Analysts to develop new/enhance existing functionality for our Clinical Data Intake Platform. *Responsibilities * Ability to analyze issues, work with matrix partners to determine root cause and implement solutions. Ability to coordinate with internal and external resources as necessary to isolate and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues. Work with application programmers, architects and business and quality analysts to understand the business, technical and infrastructure needs. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective application programming Code new or modified programs, reuse existing code through the use of program development software alternatives and/or integrates purchased solutions. Documents, tests, implements and provides on-going support for the applications. Ability to work across multiple applications and allocate time appropriately to meet assigned deadlines. Effective communication and collaboration abilities in a highly matrixed environment. *Qualifications * Strong experience with JAVA/J2EE required Experience in XML and XML technologies (JAXB, schema design, etc.) Experience in one or more of the following: Spring, Drools, Web Services/SOA- preferred Experience with Object Relational Mapping frameworks (ORM) such as Hibernate, iBATIS, JPA Technical background in UNIX client/server platform, Web Sphere, Oracle Experience with JavaScript and Java scripting related technologies.
