Position : Senior Project Manager Location : Riverwoods, IL Duration : 6 months
*Max rate: $65/hr * *MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH**: **Content related (content ingestion, curation and publishing) development projects* Senior Project Manager Consultant The Senior Project Manager Consultant will report into a Program Director or Program Manager. The Senior Project Manager will support the Program Director in aggregating and reporting on info from multiple projects. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for day-to-day project management of software development projects. This role will include project planning, reporting, communication, execution, functionality, quality, deployment, maintenance and cost. This role will include: Program Planning: Producing and aggregating all necessary software artifacts to support program planning, tracking and decision making Project Reporting: Manage/monitoring the overall project schedule, including tracking and reporting on milestones, issues, actions, risks and budget for multiple projects. Tiered Level Communications. Liaise/coordinate with other Project Managers in same program. Facilitating agenda and coordinate logistics for regular team meetings. Ensuring all artifacts are reviewed and are according to standards and guidelines. Time management system information aggregation, review and reporting Review and monitoring of testing process and test results Managing production deployment and maintenance phases of projects Participating in process improvement activities including process generation, process monitoring/auditing, and metrics collection and reporting. Achieving successful results while meeting or reducing all budgetary and project costs. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for creation of all project artifacts needed to manage the project team and for generating project reporting information that that is suitable for Program Office and Senior Executive consumption and decision making. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree strongly preferred. Applicants with extensive relevant experience will be considered Relevant Experience: Minimum 6 plus years’ overall experience working in software development projects Minimum of 4 years’ experience in project management roles. Experience in day-to-day leadership of development teams and driving projects to successful completion Demonstrable experience managing projects throughout a full lifecycle (from Inception to Deployment and Maintenance). Agile, Iterative and CMMI software development experience a strong plus. PMP Certification a plus. Experience in communicating across global, diversely located organizations; experience in matrix organizations a strong plus Experience in scope prioritization processes Experience with formal software estimation techniques and/or metrics collection and reporting a plus. Must be a self-starter, have strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, have ability to learn on the job, and have a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
