Position : Web Developer Location : Lemont, IL Duration : 3-6 Months *MUST HAVE: Drupal, WordPress, Django, Ruby on Rails, and PHP, toolkits.*
Description: Under guidance from a project lead, provide technical website solutions and development support for websites designed to meet the needs of the division, its users and employees. Assist in the design, development, and deployment of scripts and programs to accomplish the specified goals in the given projects. Develop websites in Drupal, WordPress, Django, Ruby on Rails, and PHP. Define site objectives by collecting and analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality. Design and develop user interfaces to applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determine design methodologies and tool sets; complete programming using languages and software products; design and conduct tests. Assist in web server maintenance and configuration. Suggest and/or implement configuration changes as appropriate. Support users by developing documentation and assistance tools. Educate and train users in using the finished projects as needed. Required Skills: Considerable experience with open source web application frameworks, platforms, and scripting languages; specifically, PHP, Django, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and JQuery. Considerable experience with open source toolkits such as Drupal and WordPress. Considerable knowledge of and experience with developing pages to achieve interoperability with multiple browsers. Comprehensive problem solving skills and ability to work independently. Good project and time management skills. Comprehensive knowledge in software testing: documenting test scripts, running test scripts. Comprehensive knowledge of web server administration and technologies. Comprehensive knowledge of web best practices. Considerable oral and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal relationship skills. Good knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and usability principles. Good ability to deal with multiple assignments and working on several projects simultaneously in an environment that has rapidly shifting and often contradictory demands and priorities.
