Position: *Java/Hadoop Developer*

Duration: 6 months
*Hadoop Stack and/or NoSQL database *
3+ years development experience in Java/Open Source Technologies
Experience with Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Sqoop, flume and/or NoSQL databases such
as Mongo DB is desired
Experience with data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling tools
or underlying algorithms is a plus
Unix Scripting (Python, Perl, Java Scripting, Shell) is desired
Seeking data engineers for a big-data transformation. Seeking experience
with Java, SQL, Linux, and Big Data technologies to work side-by-side with
product owners and other Agile team members building our next generation of
analytic capabilities.
*Job Responsibilities:*
Strong knowledge on of object-oriented application development and
design patterns
Converts specifications about business problems into programming
instructions
Collaborating with other agile team members to create / enhance new
data management applications and tools
Able to conduct research on new technologies in the analytics field is
a plus
Experience is using Hadoop Stack and/or NoSQL database is a plus
Maintaining records of revisions to ensure code is understandable,
simple, and clean
Conduct design & code review to ensure compliance with Standards
Providing support of previously released code as needed
Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems
Creates test scenarios/cases/stubs; runs unit tests/system
tests/regression tests to find errors and revise programs
Writes documentation that describes installation and operating
procedures
Participates in post-implementation reviews of both application
development content and process to maximize and share learning
*Your experience:*
BS in Computer Science with 3+ years professional experience
3+ years development experience in Java/Open Source Technologies
Unix Scripting (Python, Perl, Java Scripting, Shell) is desired
Experience with database is a must. Ex: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
Experience with Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Sqoop, flume and/or NoSQL databases
such as Mongo DB is desired
Experience with data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling
tools or underlying algorithms is a plus
Experience working independently in a fast paced, unstructured
environment
Shipped code on Git-Hub and/or open source contributions is a plus
