Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems/applications. Partners with users or customers to identify, evaluate, and develop applications and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. May plan and execute unit, integration, functional and acceptance testing. Creates system specifications to meet business requirements. Designs and configures details of data elements for implementing information requirements for an application. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. *Key Responsibilities*: Understands business requirements for system support and able to translate them into appropriate systems/application specifications. Formulates/defines system scope and objectives with business partners. Works with other analysts to interview clients and capture basic to moderately complex business requirements. Collaborates with business partners to research existing business and system processes. Participates in requirements definition and assists in the preparation of the proposed statement of work. Works with other analysts to collaborate with architects to propose system/application solutions. Prepares detailed system specification artifacts for application configuration setup and implementation of new initiatives. Responsible for designing and developing system setup specifications, configuration implementation, testing, and data dictionary documentation for application data elements. Facilitates or actively participates in design sessions, functional demos, and change communication. Provides operational system support. Maintains close coordination with other application development personnel, including application setup validation with data analysts, QA Analysts, and programmer analysts throughout the project lifecycle. Responsible for managing and adhering to quality standards for systems and processes. Works with business partners to formulate effective solutions based on business requirements. Develops risk management plans which include risk identification, avoidance, and mitigation. Participates in system audits and process reviews to ensure excellence. Assists in project estimating, planning, scope analysis, and coordination. May act as primary contact or coordinator for small to medium sized projects. Assists in managing team and client expectations along with mentoring other team members. *Business Experience:* 5+ years experience in business analysis, systems analysis, requirements definition and deployment of business requirements to information systems. 3-5 years experience with full system development life cycle methods for developing business software solutions. 3-5 years experience with relational database concepts, preferably with Oracle, SQL, and familiarity with reading Entity Relationships Diagrams. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must maintain sufficient business and technical expertise so as to be comfortable communicating business and technical requirements. Strong analytical/problem solving experience to deal with complex business problems. Must have a working knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML), multi-tier architecture, Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Working knowledge of capturing business requirements, transcribing requirements into system specifications, designing, and building system solutions and business applications. Working knowledge and experience with GUI design, usability studies, and creating user efficiencies through information systems. *Specialized Knowledge/Skills –* Experience in workflow and rule engine tools such as Dralasoft and ILOG desired.
