Job Title: Systems Analyst
Location: Chicago area OR NY
Duration: 12 Months

*Max rate: $48/hr *

Description:
Develops systems related systems conventions/best practices (e.g.
allocation of memory to JVM’s) and standards (e.g. use of SQL vs. other DB
technologies) to enable consistency in delivered solutions and streamlining
of operational maintenance.
Analyzes performance, reliability and business continuity needs and
develops systems designs that address these requirements/criteria in
collaboration with the Operations team for implementation.
Participates and represents the PT-SysOps team on Cross Team Design, PT
Architecture, Global Atlas Design, Architecture Forum and other inter-team
meetings, and disseminates pertinent information to the PT-SysOps team.

OTHER DUTIES:
Position will require working some evening, weekend and holiday hours. This
may be required for troubleshooting pre-production or production issues, or
to meet certain project/program objectives and milestones. At points in the
delivery and support cycle, position may require 24x7 cell phone
availability. • May perform other duties as assigned by management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent.
Advanced degree in Computer Science is advantageous.

*Must have Experience:*
Minimum 5 years experience as a Systems Engineer producing systems design
specifications for Linux and Windows based platforms.
Minimum 2 years writing scripts for automating builds and deployments (e.g.
ANT).
Minimum 2 years hands on experience with automation toolset. e.g. Puppet,
Chef, CA, etc.
Minimum 2 years designing and implementing Cloud (Azure and/or AWS) based
systems, including use of advanced Cloud services (e.g. load balancing,
gateways, networking).
Minimum 1 year experience with logging technologies (e.g. Splunk).
Programming background in one or more of the following: C , C#, Java, Perl,
Python, HTML5
Fluent spoken and written English Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or
Certifications: • Microsoft (MCITP, MCSE) and VMWare certifications
desirable.
Working knowledge of GIT or comparable revision/source code management
systems.
Working in ticket-drive workflow environments, e.g. Jira, Mantis, Service
Desk Plus, HP OpenView, etc.
Experience with wiki-based and document-based collaboration and common
toolsets, like Confluence and SharePoint.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Position requires some travel.
This is expected to be no more than 15% of total days worked.
