Duration: 6+ Months Role: Design Engineer – Mechanical Engineering OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: The individual is responsible for performing static and quasi-static analysis independently starting from component to sub-structure level including dynamic analysis. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A) Knowledge and skills: 1. Must have a strong background in basic structural engineering such as free body diagrams and strength of materials. *2.* Must have broad understanding of *finite element analysis *and *fatigue methods.* 3. Minimum of 2-4 years FEA experience using LS-Dyna, Altair HyperWorks suite or ANSYS. Experience with NASTRAN or ABAQUS is preferred but not mandatory. 4. Knowledge of stochastic/statistical tools (DOE) and Optimization tools is preferred. 5. Knowledge of composites is preferred. 6. Knowledge of seat belt modeling is required 7. Must be well-versed in understand the kinematic of hybrid II/III dummy model. 8. Knowledge of topology along with weight and shape optimization using Opti-Struct is preferred. 9. Must have strong mechanical aptitude. 10. Must be detail oriented and have sound engineering judgment. 11. Must be self-motivated and a self-starter. 12. Must be able to communicate efficiently in writing and verbally. 13. Must be able to operate standard office equipment. 14. Must be able to generate technical reports. 15. Must be willing to perform tests and some physical work at the test laboratory, as required. 16. Basic ProE/CATIA skill is preferred. 17. Familiarity with FAA regulations, Boeing/Airbus specifications is preferred.
