Storage Backup Administrator Please share me requirements ASAP…keep raj.singh@savia *Location: US- Forth Worth TX* *Duration: 1 year* Storage Backup Administrator (Level I, II, III) Develops and maintains the Veritas / Symantec Netbackup environment including the Backup Area Networks (BANs). Responsible for maintaining and administering the performance, integrity and security of the Netbackup infrastructure environment . Expected to conduct system analysis and development, with limited support and direction from professional staff, to keep our systems current with changing technologies. Duties and Activities Installs new Netbackup software releases , storage backup hardware upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves any backup software & hardware related problems. Monitors backup environment and including tape libraries, VTL, Netbackup Master and SAN Media servers configurations to ensure optimal performance and capacity levels are sufficient. Performs setup of backups for clients, special backup requests, copy functions, vaulting and inventory processes. Support a enterprise class data protection environment, including performing configuration and administration of the backup environment. Setup backup jobs, perform restores on request, trouble shoot backup performance issues and failed back ups. Perform D/R planning, configuration and testing using Netbackup & TSM. Essential Knowledge and Skills Must have knowledge of Symantec Netbackup and ADIC Tape libraries, including VTLs. Strong unix administration & scripting background on hetergenous unix platforms. At least 3 – 5 years hands on expierence with Netbackup in a large IT enterprise (200+ servers) Strong communication skills both oral and written. Expierence with spilt mirror backups, such as Timefinder, Business Copy Manager and Flashcopy, including remote data replication. Indepth troubleshooting skills to support a hetergenous storage environment. Level I Job related experience of 0 to 3 years general knowledge of applied skills. Level II Job related experience of 4 to 6 years with indepth knowledge of applied skills. Level III Job related experience of 7+ years with indepth knowledge of applied skills. In addition, indepth knowledge of particular skill specified by hireing manager.
