*Senior Systems Engineer (Windows)*
Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer to collaboratively assist our
team in building, securing, and maintaining the MassDOT enterprise server
infrastructure. This position is a thought leader and requires the ability
to run the day-to-day operations and plan for the future at the same time.
Responsibilities:
Serve as senior engineering resource as part of a team that
oversees a variety of systems and technologies including SAN, server
virtualization, and Windows server environments.
Design, integrate, test and maintain a wide variety of
system and network technologies
Create best practice, design, and SOP documentation for
systems and environments
Configure and manage hardware and VM based Windows Server
installations
Setup networking for Internet-based servers
Maintain production systems with updates
Monitor and troubleshoot all aspects of server
infrastructure
Capacity management and performance tuning
Ensure system security and data integrity
Provide 24 x 7 support for systems, applications and tools
as required
Qualifications:
Administration experience in a 24/7
<x-apple-data-detectors://1>/365 production environment
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
or other related field
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with
minimum 5 years in Microsoft and virtualization environments
Experience with Virtualization/Cloud technologies in VMware
environment, Active Directory, and SAN/NAS.
PowerShell scripting
Strong comprehension of Windows Server, Active Directory,
DNS, DHCP technologies
Configuring, backing up, and maintaining Windows Server
2008 and 2012 server systems.
Knowledge of networking as it applies to routing, VLAN's,
and multi-site environments.
Sound multi-tasking skills
Highly detail-oriented
Collaborative mindset
Certifications Desired:
MCSE or MCITP 2008 or better
VCP 5.0 or better
ITIL
EMC Storage is a plus
