San Carlos, CA [*This open position is in San Carlos, in the Bay Area Silicon Valley region]* 6m - 1year contract to hire DOE PH / SKYPE NEED EAD GC USC Notes: 1. A solid QA background and experience with big data analytics, map reduce testing will be considered 2. Candidates with good R experience as part of their University coursework/research but limited industry experience is also welcome 3. Developers that wants to move to QA are also welcome. But the candidate should have had some experience/knowledge in QA in their past. 4. The position involves developing test cases using R programming, testing and automating those tests to run as part of our Test Framework. Job Responsibilities: • Contribute to product testing effort, more specifically R integration, which includes designing test scenarios, creating test plans, implementing, automating and executing test cases. • Develop automated tests using Python, Java and/or R for features which manage, distribute and monitor computation across large clusters. • Create and improve test frameworks to satisfy automation and reporting. • Interact with field engineers and Aster partners to simulate customer scenarios which help validate the product. • Identify and propose areas of improvement throughout the software development process • Work effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Desired skills: • Ability to program in Python and/or Java • Experience using open source R functions & R libraries • Experience developing and working with R language programming • Good to have experience developing predictive R statistical models for customer data analysis • Debugging an existing algorithm built on machine learning using R • Ability to work as part of a team of QA engineers focused on testing related set of features. • Passion for QA and knack for identifying tests that break code.
