1. Job Purpose*:*
Candidate is responsible for the support of the IIB and WMQ components of
the Development, QA and Production Platform. This includes the day to day
support of the interfaces, including quick and efficient problem analysis
and resolution. Ability to design, develop and support interface services
connecting to applications and systems inside and outside the Perrigo
network. Implementation includes connectivity, utilizing connector
services for SAP adapter, Web Services, WMQ and SFTP. Establish thorough
testing and debugging programming requirements and practices, and provide
proper technical documentation to satisfy all corporate guidelines, Perrigo
and cGMP standards.
2. Knowledge, Experience and Education*: *
Excellent knowledge of EAI platform architecture, applications design,
development, maintenance, and support, is required along with solid IIB
ESQL/Java coding techniques. Ability to work directly with the system user
community to gather requirements and build system specifications. Very
strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
to support IIB functionality, including SAP Adapter , Web Services ,
ODBC/JDBC Database connectivity. Completion of a Bachelor degree in CIS,
Information Technology, or a closely allied field, combined with 10 or more
years’ experience in the development and maintenance of IBM middleware
services for IIB release 8.0 and above and WMQ 6.0 and above. Architecture
experience is desired to help establish a solid EAI platform foundation to
ensure the success of pattern reusability, scalability, ease of support and
manageability of interface services.

1. Participate in all aspects of Interface design, development,
maintenance, and support; and establish standards and processes which
ensure the reliability of Perrigo’s Websphere Platform.

1. Independently develop and maintain very complex user-level and
technical requirement specifications documentation and issue resolution for
Interfaces.

1. Participate in new project development, while supporting projects of
high-level complexity.

1. Meet project timelines in a complex, fast-paced environment, and use
established protocols to respond to problems or failures and provide
solutions to users.

1. Provide guidance and act as a technical expert to the EAI project
team.

1. Maintain project and programming documentation to ensure compliance
in Perrigo’s validated cGMP environment.

1. Principle Challenges*: *
A. Typical Challenges:
Gathering and compiling effective requirements across the provider and
consumer application or systems. Improving interface and platform
performance. Creating proactive monitoring and alerting of the interfaces
and adapters. Providing architectural solutions for long-term benefit.
B. Most Complex Problems:
Staying abreast of new and existing integration technology and providing
solutions that are not within established procedures to find the best
solutions. Working with IBM on support issues to decipher potential
toolset short-comings and offering feedback to IBM regarding the betterment
of the IIB and WMQ toolset.
7. Decision Making Authority*: *
A. What typical decisions does the job have total
authority for making?
Architecture and Design of the interfaces within Websphere platform.
Aggreement that the code is ready for production based on a successful code
review.
B. What typical decisions are referred to others for approval?
Recommendations for future platform upgrades, complex problems that cannot
be resolved, and design decisions not covered within standard practices are
escalated for guidance and direction to the Manager of the EAI team.
