*Job Description*

·         The Testing Technician interacts with other groups to analyze and
interpret Business Requirements into executable test case and Test scripts.

·         This person assists in the definition of internal quality control
standards and the maintenance of reliability programs. Analyzes test cases
and provides regular progress reports.

·         The Testing Specialist will maintain testing artifacts in
Rational CLM and work closely with the other Testing Specialists to ensure
all tests are executed and documented in accordance with QSSI CMMI Level 3
processes. Types of testing include the *Functional Acceptance testing,
User Acceptance Testing, End-to-end Testing, Performance Testing and
Regression Testing.*

·         The Testing Specialist will collaborate with the requirements and
application development teams to ensure the success of the testing process

·         Generally, work is self-directed and not prescribed.

·         Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements.

·         Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems.

·         The Testing Technician will be responsible for development of
Test Cases/Scripts, and ensuring the traceability of Business and System
Requirements in Test Plans.

·         Highly proficient with a variety of testing concepts, practices,
procedures, and tools within the IT field.

·         Should possess excellent writing and analytical skills

·         Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and
accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.

·         May mentor others and/or lead work activities.

·         A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

·         Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

·         Typically has customer interaction



 *Skills Candidate Should Possess*



·         Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

·         *2 years experience testing medium - large web-based, client
server and Java-based systems*

·         Good knowledge of different phases of test lifecycle

·         *2 years experience creating test cases and test evaluation
reports*

·         *2 years experience in UI, database, functional, regression and
negative testing*

·         Knowledge of performance and automated testing desired

·         Basic database skills such as SQL, ability to read data models,
identify tables/columns impacted by a function and *execute SQL statements
(SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE)*

·         Basic programming knowledge such as HTML, MS Access, MS-DOS,
UNIX, etc. is desirable.

·         Knowledge of MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) is
necessary.

·         *Knowledge of software testing tools such as Rational Team
Concert and Rational Quality Manager*

·         Good analytical and problem solving skills,

·         Good interpersonal skills required to work with Government
Cliental

·         Experience working in Federal Agencies using the Agile Methodology

·         Able to understand interpret business and system requirements,

·         Very good communication skills

·         Can work independently with minimum to no guidance

·         Good documentation skills
