*Tech –* Access 2013 and above (2016 is being used) and
Tableau 9.0 and above (9.2 is being used)
*Soft –* communication with RAs and Faculty members, client
interviews, and Busing Process for design and visualization
*NOTE :* *MUST HAVE great Comm. skills. Could be a national search
candidate – they would have to be here for week one, then could be remote.*
*Must Have : *
- Experience at *developing and implementing Microsoft Access databases *
- Proficient in using *Tableau to* query such databases and build
interactive reports
*Day to Day : *
- The project involves working with a faculty research project to import
data into Access, then to author requested reports in Tableau.
- A senior faculty member came to the Director last week with a long
research study that needs an Access Database created
- the study consists of quantitative data, transcripts of interviews on
PDFs, wave files, etc. and she wants it all gathered into one place (with
links to underlying data) + an interface to do deep dives and summary of
data. Example - If one person in the study answered this way, did they also
answer this way on the next question? All the data compressed = 15 gigs.
- She + research assistants are finishing up the study.
- They need expertise to structure the data and bring into Access, then
bring the data out of Access and do the reporting.
- Soup to nuts engagement. Someone with expertise in using and
programing access databases + design in tableau and the ability to give
guidance for restructuring would be ideal. Candidates must also have an eye
for access db to be visually stimulating. The resource will meet with end
users and the Director will be the PM.
- *Tableau is a dashboarding product. Faculty member wants a bundle of
tableau to be a reader and create Tableau bundled work books.
