The Administrator will be involved with shell scripting (ksh and Perl) to automate processes and monitor configuration, host data management using EMC technologies from backup/recovery to database copying and installation/migration of systems. The candidate will be expected to apply traditional system administration skills (troubleshooting, monitoring, performance monitoring and tuning, configuration, etc) to fix problems or meet project goals. The candidate is expected to work as part of the UNIX team and the broader infrastructure group with minimal guidance. Attention to detail, ownership of problems and follow-through to completion are critical characteristics for this position. Good Verbal and Communication Skills required. *Responsibilities* Must be available to work outside of normal business hours to fulfill production and project needs Must provide 7x24 on-call support on a rotating basis Develop and follow operating procedures for peers and operations staff Rigorous adherence to enterprise procedures and change control processes Develop automation to increase efficiency and reliability of managing and monitoring the environment Develop and maintain documentation for system management, that is, policies, processes and procedures Work as part of a team with other infrastructure groups (network, DBA, application support, etc) to fulfill project goals, troubleshoot problems and share knowledge Interact with vendor support staff to troubleshoot problems. *Requirements* 6 years of AIX experience with a minimum of 1 year of AIX Virtualization experience Solid knowledge and experience with AIX LVM using EMC disk arrays Demonstrated scripting skills required in both Perl and Korn shell Hands-on experience with p5/6 machines, HMCs and AIX Virtualization Demonstrated troubleshooting skills, using standard UNIX tools for performance, system, network and storage troubleshooting Experience with system installation and recovery using NIM Solid understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, NFS, VLAN technology) Experience with SAP/Oracle database infrastructure configuration is a plus Experience with Tivoli Storage Manager is a plus -- Regards, Gabriel Agile Enterprise Solutions, Inc || "Ensuring Client's Success"|| Ph: (630)-242-8896 x 302 Fax: (847)-890-6357 www.agilees.com|| Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "oracleguru" group.
