DBA Manager / Oracle ERP The requirements for this position are as follows: A combination of strong database technical subject matter expertise (primarily Oracle with some Microsoft SQL Server) for technical direction and strong managerial skills to lead people and drive internal initiatives to completion Experience successfully planning and executing database migrations (e.g., major version upgrades), database patching and critical patch upgrades Experience maturing a database team by improving current structures and expanding standard processes Experience developing and rolling out best technical practices and procedures for key Oracle technologies Experience working in an environment with formal change control and compliance processes (e.g., SOX, ISO, SAS70, GAMP / FDA) Considers business aspects of problems, and recognizes opportunities for expanding business services Strong customer focus and communication skills. Ensures effective flow of communication between the DBA team, internal teams, and management. Will interface with System Engineering/Admin teams, Applications group, Support Services (helpdesk) and the Project Management Organization (PMO). Minimum Requirements: Minimum 10 years experience working as a DBA in an Oracle environment Minimum 3 years experience managing / mentoring a highly skilled DBA team of 3-5 people Experience managing 24x7 production support in a global environment Strong Oracle ERP experience Microsoft SQL Server experience Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle and Oracle tools. Ability to perform complex DBA tasks. Strong understanding of advanced database concepts Demonstrated proficiency in SQL Demonstrated knowledge of ErWin (or similar tool) for schema development and architecture Demonstrated knowledge of shell environments (C, Korn, KSH, Bourne) Ability to write complex UNIX scripts and an understanding of the UNIX architecture Effective oral and written skills Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, Masters in computer science highly desirable Platforms / Technologies: Oracle 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g, Oracle ERP 9, Oracle E-business 11, Data Guard, RMAN SQL Server 2000, 2005 Solaris 8, 10 Experience with best practices frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, etc. Thank you, DBA FYI Center http://dba.fyicenter.com/ --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "oracleguru" group.
