If you have consultants, please let me know asap. *Network Architect* *Location:* Madison, WI *Duration:* 3 year contract *Phone and Skype!!!!* *Skills:* This position serves as the expert and authority for technical architecture direction for the department's law enforcement and other systems. It is a key role for agency-wide design, integration, and implementation of highly complex multi-platform business applications. It also guides and assists various work teams involved in defining and developing solutions in the areas of systems and infrastructure development, multiple networks and connectivity as well as communication and security protocols, databases and data repositories, and diverse customers. This position is expected to develop in-depth knowledge of customers' business needs and to identify and recommend new technologies and directions for the department in accord with current and emerging needs. *Essential Functions:* • Design, configure and implement enterprise environments. • Monitor and maintain the health of enterprise environments. • Design, configure, install and monitor the enterprise storage area network (SAN) infrastructure to ensure optimal system storage availability and performance. Ensure data integrity assurance processes are maintained and system backups and recover operations are successfully executed. • Develop and monitor architectural standards and policy; collaborate with the team to design, follow and enforce security policies and processes. • Create and maintain standard operating procedures including infrastructure provisioning, capacity management, and availability management. • Create and maintain architecture reference materials, technical and functional documentation. • Develop technical solution roadmaps in support of business initiatives. • Design automated applications and infrastructure with focus on security, scalability, availability, and recoverability. • Design and implement Desktop Management Automation and Application packaging and deployment solutions. • Provide leadership for and contribute to the development of solutions and deliverables related to infrastructure for DOJ projects in collaboration with project teams. • Provide project estimates related to infrastructure solutions. • Monitor project work of technical staff and drive project progress. • Oversee and audit compliance with architectural policies and standard operating Procedures. • Assess rapidly changing technologies, including tools, technologies, frameworks and industry best practices and develop recommendations for solutions to meet current and emerging business needs. • Develop in-depth understanding of business needs. • Serve as technical liaison to management, business stakeholders, and vendors. • Lead major IT procurement efforts and manage vendor services for purchased systems. • Sense of urgency and commitment to providing the best support possible to DOJ customers. • Microsoft technologies including server, email and Active Directory. • Remote access and application virtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMWare, HyperV, VDI, OS/App streaming and Thin Client technology. • Desktop Management automation/Application Packaging and Deployment. • Storage Area Network management. • Authentication and authorization methodologies including multi-factor authentication. • Infrastructure monitoring tools and monitoring best practices. • Object oriented analysis, design and development. • Capacity management and availability management concepts. • Multi-tiered systems security. • Business analysis. • Excellent communicator and collaborator. • Ability to work well with others and be respected as a leader. • Advanced Microsoft or VMWare certifications highly desirable. *Must Have Skills:* • Ability to be self directed * 3 Yrs. • Ability to evaluate customer needs effectively and evidence of using good judgment. * 3 Yrs. • Ability to log, organize and prioritize work *3 Yrs.
