Duration: 1-2 year contract Lab Network Pay: $35/hour Location: Austin or Atlanta Required Degrees/Majors/Accreditations: MS in electrical engineering or computer science preferred; or a BS in electrical engineering or computer science with additional years of relevant experience. CCNP or equivalent preferred. Candidates must possess at least 5 years of technical or customer support experience or product testing. The candidate will be a part of a team working on the development, testing and evaluation of new and existing video products and systems for the delivery of Broadband and/or IP packet based video communication services to a wireless company. Candidates must possess network platform development or support experience and have a strong knowledge of broadband telecommunications. The candidate must also have broad industry experience in more than one of the following areas: operations of data networks, development knowledge of software architectures, or in-depth knowledge of IP architecture support for systems such as Web servers, HTTP servers, routers, firewalls LAN/WAN, DNS, or Mail services. Knowledge of digital video technology is a must. Experience with Cisco, Alcatel and/or Juniper is preferred. The candidate is expected to have working knowledge of IP networks, protocols and components (routers, switches) as well as experience with IP streaming capture utilities (e.g. Ethereal). The candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to effectively communicate in team situations requiring information sharing. The candidate is expected to interface with outside suppliers and vendors. The candidate must be able to draft performance requirements, design test scenarios, develop test automation tools, and analyze performance results for problem areas, and recommend solutions if needed. Activities will include many of the following: - lead the development of test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on requirements - defect reporting and issue resolution - analyze, support, and troubleshoot network service issues - determine lab and systems configuration needs on an on-going basis, isolating problems, and making corrections as needed to support multiple dynamic projects Additional skills - Familiar with OSPF, layer 2 and 3 switching, MPLS, IGMP, PIM, 802.1q, UNIX, AAA/Security, and Triple Play - Technical understanding of the current PON and xDSL architectures and standards - Experience with Operational Support Systems - Hands-on familiarity with testing methodologies, and quality control -- Thanks & Regards, Abhi [email protected]--
