Position #1: 5/3/10 thru 9/3/10
Positions #2 and #3: 5/3/10 thru 7/2/10
Position #1 (5/3-9/3) and Position #2 (5/3-7/2)
Develop the Java program to parse XML data to/from individual Counties to the
statewide Voter Registration system.
Position #3 (5/3-7/2)
Upgrade the statewide Voter Registration system from Java 1.4 to Java 6.
Under the leadership of the Office of the Texas Secretary of State (SOS), the
TEAM system (Texas Election Administration Management) includes functionality
for county and state election officials to maintain voter registration records,
administer elections in all jurisdictions, execute and report election results.
Additional features include jury wheel selection support from validated voter
registrations, and a public voter website.
Worker performs highly complex computer programming work. Worker will work
under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative
and independent judgment. The positions involve all stages of development
including requirements, design, implementation, debugging, testing,
documentation and release of JAVA based software solutions.
Primary tasks will be:
A. Analyze, develop, test and implement TEAM Interface (Import/Export).
B. Analyze, develop, test and implement the Jury Wheel.
C. Upgrade TEAM System from Java 1.4 to current Java version.
Examples of work performed:
A. Perform coding, testing, and debugging of programs; and the preparation
and use of test data.
B. Assists in developing solutions to software related problems.
C. Perform duties assigned in accordance with department standards and
procedures.
D. May assist in preparing detailed analyses, plans, diagrams, and
verification procedures for existing and proposed computer applications.
E. May assist in the generation or installation of systems software.
F. May develop and implement specialized programs to supplement and
enhance systems software.
G. Will work with Java (J2EE)/XML development, Web-based architectures,
Object Oriented analysis and design.
H. Share technical knowledge and expertise with fellow team members.
I. Performs related work as assigned.
