Role: JAVA / WEBSPHERE DEVELOPER
Location: San Antonio, Texas {Locals Preferred}
Duration: 6 months Contract to Hire
Inclusive Rate: $40.00 hr. C2C

A. PURPOSE OF JOB
Acquires and applies broad knowledge of the business, its products, and/or
processes. Gathers and analyses user and system requirements, respond to
outages and creates application system models. Prepares concepts for
information system solutions and may evaluate the cost-effectiveness of these
concepts. May coordinate system application transition from development teams
to maintenance and production team; constructs and implements necessary
controls to assure system / application traceability. Ensures system
improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
Applies and enhances policies, standards and procedures. Resolves issues of
and navigates obstacles to deliver work product. Serves as a resource to less
experienced team members on escalated issues of a routine nature.
B. JOB DUTIES
1. Consistently applies learned processes, procedures and workflows to include
(however not limited to) the software development lifecycle and/or release
processes.
2. Creates system requirements, performs design and analysis, coding of medium
to high complexity, unit testing of core system functionality and corrects
defects during various phases of testing.
3. Independently install, customize and integrate commercial software
packages. Facilitates root cause analysis of system issues.
4. May serve as the subject matter expert on development techniques. Creates
system documentation/play book and participates as a reviewer and contributor
in requirements, design and code reviews.
5. Receives more complex work packages from manager/delegates. Develops
accurate estimates, and creates project and component work packages based on
specifications.
6. Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability and
resolves complex technical design issues.
7. May serve as a mentor on procedural matters to junior team members.

Minimum Requirements
- 4+ years relevant business support and/or general analysis experience.
- Working knowledge of data analysis tools; - Working knowledge of industry
data sources.
Preferred Skills:
5+ years of experience developing Java, Java Script
3+ years of experience with IBM Websphere Application Server
2+ years of experience XML, SQL, JSP.
Working knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
3+ years of experience with structured analysis and design.
2+ years of experience with development projects in excess of 1,500 hours of
effort.
Working knowledge with struts and hibernate frameworks.
