Summary: Participate in a large cross-functional team of business and IT
representatives to support AA’s activities in the development of a new large
scale system. The position will work with the IT team to document plans for
migrating all interfacing applications. The individual will meet with
application owners to gather details about the current system interfaces and
will work with the system owners and architects to plan the new interfaces
and develop a schedule with the migration details. The position reports
regularly to management on the migration strategy, challenges and project
status.

Education/Experience
o Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer
engineering or related field preferred but not required.
o 8-10 years experience required

Responsibility level
o Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor

Skills
o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention
to detail and interpersonal skills (Required)
o Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required)
o Strong knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in
production of drawings and models (Required)
o Strong knowledge of computer software, such as Assembler, C, C++, etc
(Required)
o Develops documentation describing the migration strategy and procedures
o Mainframe TPF system experience on the airline Passenger Service System
preferred
o Experience with migrating systems off of a large TPF airline reservation
system preferred
o Cognitive skills to gather and analyze data and convert the data into
graphs and charts
o The ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships
across departmental lines and respond quickly and accurately to requirements


Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Document existing environment, describing the technical functions as well
as the business functions involved
o Excellent project management and analytical skills, coupled with problem
solving skills and the ability to determine and communicate details related
to a system hardware and software migration.
o Proven ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently and successfully
promote new processes and methodologies
o Ability to keep complex efforts moving forward quickly while exercising an
appropriate level of discipline
