The QA analyst conducts manual testing, and reviews of data and documentation on new projects and/or project enhancements of medium to large scale. The incumbent demonstrates expertise in a variety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures, and relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The QA analyst will conduct various types of testing to ensure complete quality of application for release by coordinating with business analysts, programmers/developers and other project team members * * * *ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Design, develop, implement and maintain software test cases and test plans to evaluate software functionality, performance and defects using manual testing process. Manage and administer testing environments. Coordinate software testing work schedules/requirements/issues with other groups, including project managers, business analysts and software development teams (both local and remote). Works with developers, analysts and business partners on problem areas to define pertinent specifications for applications testing. Define and create test scripts and ensure complete testing of applications. Plan and deliver testing by reading specifications, creating test matrices, writing test plans, set-up of test data, define test cases and develop test scripts. Report and track defects by providing reproducible test cases and work with other team members to document and close issues. Review functional specifications and design documents. Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, dynamic environment, under aggressive deadlines. Follow up with user and systems groups to address problems and complex issues. Serves as a technical, subject matter resource for testing, systems and business line staff. Participates in and/or conducts training, meetings and report preparation. Performs requirements analysis to develop scenarios and test cases. Analyze documents of functional requirements, use cases and any other requirements documents, process flows and screen prints. May assist QA manager in establishing new processes, documentation templates, etc. for the QA team. * * * *DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 5 years SQA experience in Manual Testing on medium scale projects, designing, writing and implementing test plans, test scenarios, test cases and test execution Experience in Energy business preferred Experience in Billing, Finance, Conversion/migration is plus Experience in Quality Center Experience in QTP tool preferred Strong organizational and analytical skills Solid understanding of SQA project involvement, software application development life cycle and methodologies Solid skills in use cases and other requirement documents and tools Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technically, both written and verbal Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and ask for help as necessary Intermediate in database understanding, MS Word, Excel, SQL and UNIX experience Ability to design and implement software functional tests for both feature and system level.
