Location: PA. Duration: 6 Months + Hourly Rate: Open Technical Skills REQUIRED: This billing application is in DB2 / Mainframe environment and they are having issues emulating performance testing within a batch environment. Responsibilities will be to generate complex LoadRunner scripts within a SOA distributed system (integration layer) / Mainframe / Batch environment to be executed, analyzed, monitored and reported. Responsible for generating performance measurements, developing usage/transaction models that highly approximate/emulate production scenarios, and executing various performance tests (benchmark, load, stress, capacity, contention, database, etc). Also, responsible for identifying and trouble shooting performance issues and leading/participating in tuning efforts. Participate in the design and creation of test data, in the volumes needed to appropriately test the system and databases. Produce test reports and present test results, as appropriate. Write and review test documents (e.g., test plans, test strategies), as appropriate. Provide timely status to project management and functional management, as required *Critical Success Factors:*** *Loadrunner Scripting:* - Experience Performance testing large batch applications in a heavy integration / highly distributed systems - Experienced in building adds ins to the tool, volume testing and perform performance monitoring in a mainframe / batch environment. - Experience in working in highly integrated systems that have a lot of components - Generating performance measurements, developing usage/transaction models that highly approximate/emulate production scenarios, and executing various performance tests (benchmark, load, stress, capacity, contention, database, etc). - Identifying and trouble shooting performance issues and leading/participating in tuning efforts. - Participate in the design and creation of test data, in the volumes needed to appropriately test the system and databases - Forward thinking of where bottlenecks could occur, and taking actions to get performance infrastructure in place to address. *Performance testing emulating a Batch environment:* * * - Ability to emulate the MF batch for performance testing - Build out a usage model from a batch migrating to a server (integration layer) - Migrating from a mainframe to a server based system (need to have done it before) - Help ensure performance testing of a batch process at night (understanding what kind of tests they need to build) - Experience performance testing large batch cycles and volume testing - Testing mainframe to opensystems such as webservices - Understanding performance testing - real time vs. batch. (How performance can provide metrics?) - Mainframe monitoring – have started to build out automated capture of mainframe metrics for performance team. *Performance testing within an Oracle environment* - Performance testing within either a data warehouse or Oracle migration in the past - Must have strong PL/SQL experience *SOA / Webservices* - Solid to strong background with SOA – i.e. understanding of WSDL, SOAP requests, endpoints - Ability to test endpoints (components) through Integration Layer (canonical) - Experience working at the Integration Layer (IBM Websphere MQ – currently resides on mainframe and IBM Websphere Broker – currently resides on mainframe) *Communication Skills:* * * - Excellent speaking, writing and presentation abilities, comfortable in dealing at the C-level in large organizations - Someone who has worked in large / political IT organizations *Differentiators:*** - Performance Center - CA Wily Introscope - HP SiteScope * * *Technical Components:* * * - Loadrunner -- Mainframe / Batch - Webservices / SOA - Oracle & PL/SQL If interested then do send me your updated resume to [email protected] immediately with following details to discuss further.
