Specific tasks and requirements for the database programmer analyst include: • • Work closely with all BHNSM development teams and informatics staff to provide an integrated PHEP data reporting platform that conforms to consistent methodologies, standards and industry best practices. • Participate in defining overall data architectures for VOMS, MERITS, HERDS, HAvBED and Data Visualization applications. • Participate in evaluating requirements, working with development teams and informatics staff to provide data reporting solutions to end users of aforementioned applications. • Work closely with report developers and analysts interpreting reporting requirements and collaborating on reporting designs to ensure a holistic integration of an integrated PHEP data reporting solution within the entire Health Commerce ecosystem. • Coordinate with other technical staff to develop database architectures, ETL standards, and quality assurance policies and processes. • Responsible for data acquisition and access analysis and design. • Develops process for capturing and maintaining metadata. • Coordinates new data development ensuring consistency and integration with existing database structures. • Lead efforts for establish data modeling best practices and procedures using data modeling and repository toolsets (including ERwin and other metadata management toolsets), and provide data modelling training for BHNSM staff. • Architect, design and develop the integrated PHEP data reporting solution components, including databases and ETL using Oracle and SAS software. • Any other tasks necessary for completion of project deliverables and general data architecture support. • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in IT and Data Analysis, Data Management experience, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Management, Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical, SDLC, and Business Process Modeling), and Policy development and facilitation are required with experience with data flow and information flow modeling and concepts are essential. • Extensive experience with very large data repositories and knowledge of industry's data standards and architectures • Have an end-to-end vision with ability to see how a logical design will translate into one or more physical Databases, and how the Data will flow through the successive Stages involved. He (or she) will need to be able to address issues of Data Migration (Validation, Clean-up and Mapping), and will need to understand the importance of Data Dictionaries. • Thorough knowledge of design and integration principles for complex, heterogeneous databases • Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure • Ability to evaluate and make recommendations regarding data integrity • Ability to develop methods of ensuring data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated • Thorough understanding of Internet architectures on a distributed platform (Java) is essential. • Extensive experience with large environments, multiple applications, multiple database systems, and networked technology is required. • Experience with integration and middleware technologies is a plus. • Ability to translate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and resources staff • Capable of leading cross-discipline planning and matrix teams with strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead working groups, negotiate and create consensus
