REQUIREMENT: Client: Metlife Location: Irving, TX Duration: Long Term Rate: Open JOB SUMMARY This position will be highly involved in the Metlife Disaster Recovery project. The candidate must have strong experience with windows clustering, database replication, log shipping and Microsoft SQL Server disaster recovery strategies. Additionally, the Database Administrator is expected to administer, monitor, and maintain the SQL Server databases infrastructure. This resource will utilize Metlife Data Services policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the SQL Server database environment. Tasks to be performed will include implementing and maintaining SQL Server instances; resolving database performance issues, database capacity planning, implement database objects, and configure backups. The DBA must ensure a quality implementation of new database systems and the consistent, efficient operation of existing database systems. Provides technical expertise and consulting services to the Metlife Home Loans development teams. JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Experience installing and supporting SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 database environments. In-depth knowledge of SQL Server backup/recovery techniques Strong experience with database replication, log shipping, and Disaster Recovery strategies Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong knowledge of and efficient skill in applying: . SQL Development . SQL Tuning . Database Tuning . T-SQL Development . SQL Server database architecture and design .
