The ideal candidate will have in depth experience with database development across multiple platforms and will be able to immediately come in and code SQL and/or map/reduce without direction. The ability to identify and resolve problems with backend performance is vital. Additionally, this individual will help manage, optimize, and administer SQL Server database environments and will also design databases and develop stored procedures, function, and triggers. They should have strong database/query optimization skills and be able to analyze and debug stored procedures for functional correctness and optimal efficiency. The candidate must understand business requirements and be able to convert business requirements to system designs, relationships and objects. Strong performance tuning skills are required because this is a high transaction volume environment with very high up time requirements.
