Application Integration 2. Data Warehouse / BI / Analytics 3. Infrastructure Descriptions are vague, so please just find very high level talent that has extensive experience in the “GENERAL AREAS” above Position Summary The Solution Architect is a trusted technology expert responsible for conceptualizing and designing technology solutions to meet enterprise business needs. Responsible for the architectural design of technology solutions, the Solution Architect will utilize their knowledge of defined reference architectures, technology trends and innovations in order to translate a business need into a solution blueprint that represents an end-to-end technical solution. A Solution Architect is someone with broad IT experience across many technologies. Successful candidates will possess hands-on experience with a wide range of enterprise technologies. Ideal candidates will have led multiple projects and have several years of experience designing and implementing technology solutions in various capacities. Responsibilities The Solutions Architect has several essential duties and responsibilities, which include the following: Establish technology solutions that can be leveraged by multiple projects across the enterprise to address a similar business need. Ø Leverage technical knowledge, industry trends, and other tools to identify technology optionsthat support PG&E’s technology landscape. Ø Create solution blueprints based on reference architectures that align with and promote technology standards, design patterns, guiding principles and strategies across architecture domains. Ø Verify that solutions contain high flexibility to adjust to future business scenarios or products. Ø Design solution architectures and systems that can be supported by PG&E’s current operational framework after implementation. Ø Work with key stakeholders and Enterprise Architects to develop technology roadmaps. Ø Evolve PG&E’s technology landscape through mature solution architectures. Ø Participate in setting and evolving technology standards. Ø Identify opportunities to leverage existing technology solutions within projects. Ø Validate the solution implementation aligns with architectural design. Ø Engage with key stakeholders to define business needs or problems. Ø Identify opportunities for end-to-end optimization of enterprise infrastructure solutions. Ø Serve as a recognized subject matter expert and thought leader with deep expertise. Ø Maintain broad based technical and solutions knowledge. Skills and Competencies We are looking for a senior thought leader with the following skills: · Absolute confidence with technology and technical architectures, as well as practical adaptation and functional deployment of enterprise technology solutions. Ø Strong cross-domain and cross-functional knowledge. Ø Deep understanding of the technology landscape leveraged by PG&E. Ø Ability to identify architecture components for reuse across the enterprise. Ø Ability to depict the enterprise information conceptually, logically and physically. Ø Familiarity with IT development and delivery methodologies. Ø Ability to achieve a high-level understanding of the business and the business priorities, strategies and current capabilities. Ø Ability to work collaboratively with other stakeholders. Ø Excellent communication skills across all levels; ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources in clear concise language that is the parlance of each group. Ø Strong customer management and negotiation skills and the ability to mediate opposing viewpoints and articulate the advantages of a technology solution. Ø A dynamic and engaging presentation style that commands respect, inspires confidence and earns trust. Ø Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ø Strong leadership skills in the technology domain and a high level of drive, initiative and assertiveness. Ø Ability to manage deadlines and deliver quality artifacts. Minimum Qualifications Required Ø Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or related field, or equivalent work experience; certifications are highly regarded. Ø Demonstrated expert knowledge of Architectural Practices, such as TOGAF. Ø Hands-on experience and strong understanding of technology. Ø A minimum of 7 years work experience.
