He is looking for someone who is a *good DBA* but maybe started as *Helpdesk or Network Engineer,* this person will be kind of a blended role. *•7-10 years exp as a DBA* *•SQL Server* *•Reporting Services (on the Server side)* *•Network experience* •Troubleshooting exp (connectivity issues) •Disaster Recovery Exp *Desired:** * *•He would like them to have experience working with encryptions or credit cards. * *If they have PCI compliance that would be a huge help* •Microsoft Certified * Responsibilities:** * •Maintain the entire database environment with appropriate software, monitoring, on-call support, SQL optimization, disaster recoverability, and troubleshooting. •Assist with the architecture of the databases and system environment. •Proactive remediation and on-call support of any database related issue and assist in diagnosing database connected applications, including off-hours, late-night, and weekends. •*Performance monitoring and tuning of SQL Server systems and queries.* •Facilitate the improvement of system and database security on the company's servers to minimize unauthorized use and damage to our assets. Ensure the database environment and procedures conform to all of the company's policies as it relates to information security and operational effectiveness. •Continue to develop the team's technical implementation related to high availability and business continuity preparedness; DR site testing, replication, log shipping, DR dump and loads, documentation, etc. •Review database software and data administration industry standards, and ensure the team's work is in compliance with the standards. •On a recurring basis, review the capacity, performance and security of the databases and make recommendations for enhancements to ensure business needs are met. *Basic Qualifications:** * •High School degree or equivalent •*5 or more years of cumulative experience supporting SQL Server 2000, 2005, and 2008.* *•3 or more years of experience using Reporting Services (server-side support, report design and deployment)* •2 or more years experience with data modeling tools, designing and architecting database models/schema. *Preferred Qualifications:** * •BS in Computer Science or related field. *•2+ years experience in eCommerce and/or retail industries* •Certifications preferred = Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MSDBA), *Microsoft Certified IT Professional Database Administrator (MCITP DA), * * Microsoft Certified IT Professional Database Developer (MCITP DD)* •Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate confidently with all levels of management •Deep knowledge of SQL performance tuning techniques, high availability, disaster recovery, and security skills.
