Hi Systems Analyst - Cognos
Duration: 6 months+ Location: Plymouth, MN (Minneapolis) LOCAL Preferred Client: Covidien Rate: Best all inclusive Communication and delivery are the most important aspects of this role - technical know-how is second. Position Purpose: This position will be responsible to provide analysis/requirement assistance, IT design, development guidance, implementation, post-implementation support, and training. Responsibilities: . Provide business system service/support for functional customers. . Act as a liaison between IS and assigned business areas with limited supervision by the Business Analyst IS Manager. . Coordinate development and support functions with IS Team (Infrastructure, Network, Server, Security, etc.). . Continuously grow in knowledge of local current software systems to be better able to provide support. . Provide backup system support and on-call Outage service as assigned. . Leverage IT software development methodology and best practices to ensure high quality deliverables . Work with assigned user base to ensure adequate requirements including gathering, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support. . Execute all software changes in compliance with the Covidien Software Development Life Cycle documentation procedures. . Comply with applicable FDA and international regulatory laws/standards and the Covidien Code of Conduct. . Exercise independent, good judgment within bounds of Covidien policy . Perform related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge and Skills: . Possesses an intermediate experience range of technical skills applicable to systems in the assigned business functional area . Ability to manage one or more small to medium projects . Experience employing a process improvement or software development methodology to successfully deliver an information systems project . Excellent communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate with persons and groups in various functional areas of the organization and with customers of different skill and organizational levels. Ability to provide leadership and gain cooperation among broad spectrum of people working styles. Special Requirements or additional preferred skills: * Basic experience with general Manufacturing systems including Order Entry, Manufacturing Planning (MRP, DRP), Shop Floor Systems, Procurement, etc. * Preferred software skills include: * Desktop Applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project. * Business System specific knowledge of QAD, General Labeling systems, Cognos, Optio, MatrixOne, or other programs currently used by ev3. Qualifications: . 2 year associate degree minimum, Bachelor's degree preferred . Minimum of 4 years of experience in an information system functional support role or "power" business user role. . 2+ years of Cognos (version 8 or 10) report authoring experience o Report Studio experience is a must o Query Studio & Transformer experience is a plus . Experience implementing process improvements using software functional configuration and/or using software development methodology to successfully deliver an information systems project. .
