*Immediate need a Unix admin with BMC ADDM - VA (200% Placement)* *Job Title : Unix admin with BMC ADDM Location : Reston, VA Duration : 6-12+ Months contract* *Required Skills:* *Upgrade BMC ADDM from version 8.2.2 to version 9.1 and enable additional software - hardware capabilities to accomplish IT asset management requirements. 5+ years with Unix shell and Perl scripting. 5+ years working with Unix and Windows servers in a large data center. 5+ years with Unix & Windows administration. 5+ years with major software product installations and troubleshooting Experience with storage and network devices 7+ years of progressive IT experience. Experience with Windows batch scripts preferred. Experience with ADDM engineering and administration is preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.* *Job Description:* *Responsibilities include but not limited to: enabling discovery of Physical and virtual servers (Windows, Solaris, Linux and AIX), enabling discovery of software instances running on the discovered servers; enabling relationship between servers and storage/network devices; apply monthly TKU (Technology Knowledge Units); create templates within ADDM to automate the discovery; ensure periodic scan of the environments for discovery and resolve any issues; administer ADDM product for operational resiliency and develop mechanism to import – export data from/to ADDM. Provide support for internal customers for discovery enhancements and fixes. Develop and maintain the signature packages (TPL) for custom and commercial software packages. Perform development of proprietary packages and scripts. Work closely with system administrators and DBA for routine operations such as performance tuning, upgrades and backup. Manage vendor relationships with BMC (acquiring new patches, upgrades and TKU) Maintain Service level agreements with both customer and support organizations. Maintain Data Profiles/ Engineering and architecture documents.
