*Please send me Local Candidates for this position ASAP.* *Job Title: *Big Data Administrator - Hadoop *Location: *Pleasanton, CA *Remote work allowed: Y / N: *N – Onsite Only *Number of Positions: *3 *Type of Hire: *Consulting *Length of Contract: *24+ Months *Start Date: *ASAP *Rate: *Depends on Experience / Open *Responsibilities:* · Responsible for the day to day operation and support of Hadoop environments, which includes Hadoop Cluster infrastructure setup, software installation, upgrading/patching, monitoring, tuning/optimizing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and working with development team to install components (Hive, Pig, etc.) and manage MapReduce jobs. · Perform Hadoop capacity monitoring and short and long-term capacity planning in collaboration with development resources, system administrators and system architects. · Be accountable for maintaining the availability, performance, and continuity of client’s Big Data (Hadoop) environments · Implement and maintain security according to best practices and in compliance with client’s auditing requirements for Hadoop cluster infrastructure. · Implement DR strategy for Hadoop Distributions collaborating with storage and Unix teams. · Stay connected with open source development in Big Data Technology world, evaluate different tools and make recommendations. *Experience:* · Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience. · Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Development or Support teams. · Minimum of 2 year of Hadoop stack administration experience · Minimum 2 Years with (HDFS, MapReduce, Sqoop, Hive, Pig Scripting, Oozie workflow and HBASE ) with Cloudera Distribution. · Proven experience building and supporting Hadoop based technology. · Minimum of 3 years of advanced *Linux *experience. · Strong scripting experience on Linux in Java. · Define and develop client specific best practices around data management within a Hadoop environment. · Hands on experience on Core Java in Linux environment. · Work with functional team/ Frameworks team to understand requirements and translate them to technical specifications. · Minimum of 1 year of data analytics experience. · Strong SQL knowledge a must. Good to have advanced data warehousing knowledge. · Knowledge of one or more of the new database technologies would be useful. e.g. MongoDB, etc. · Having worked on specialized systems such as fraud detection, advanced analytics, monitoring etc. would be beneficial. · Good written and verbal communication skills are required. · Cloudera certification.
