*Position : Perl / Python Developer* *Location: San Diego, CA* *Duration : 12+ Months* *Interview: Phone and F2F* *Summary Description:* The role will include working as a member of the team in developing and sustaining software used in the Teradata Open Distribution for Hadoop platform. Successful candidates will have designed and implemented software utilizing Python and Java. Prior Hadoop distribution experience is a plus but not a requirement. *Key Areas of Responsibility:* • Analyze and troubleshoot issues, develop fixes, and test conditions. • Design and develop test cases that verify product operation and interoperability, including performance assessments and failover/recovery strategies • Assist product engineers in the identification, reproduction and resolution of product defects • Provide & implement recommendations/suggestions to improve product features, quality, reliability and serviceability *Skills & Attributes:* The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communications skills, excellent analytical skills, and ability to plan and organize.. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of best practices for software development and test.
