*Position : Project Manager Location : Providence, RI Duration : 18+ Months Phone then Face to Face* *Must have financial and/or CPM experience.* *Job Description:* One of my clients in RI is looking for a Senior Project Manager for an 18+ month project. This is working on the Corporate Performance Management (CPM) project. They would be looking for this candidate to have some finance and/or CPM experience. *General Position Summary: * As a Project Manager in Information Technology, you will be working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, global environment to lead teams in delivering projects that meet business objectives on time and on budget. To accomplish this, the Project Manager will perform the following functions: • Lead a team in planning, executing and tracking progress in completing tasks, producing deliverables, resolving issues, mitigating risks that enable achievement of the project’s business objectives • Lead a team in understanding the linkage between the project’s business objectives, deliverables, tasks, roles and responsibilities • Lead a team in using proven best practices in Solution Development and Project Management to deliver quality products on time and on budget in an effective, efficient and repeatable way. Principle Activities and Responsibilities: The Project Manager will lead teams of 10 to 50 people to perform the following: • Work with project leaders, project team and stakeholders to complete project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing and works with senior leadership and stakeholders for approvals • Ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget and meet all business and system requirements • Conducts all project management tasks to ensure schedule, cost and quality goals are met • Guide project team in understanding project approach, roles and responsibilities and expectations in performing activities throughout the lifecycle of the project using industry proven methods • Lead project team in developing project plans, schedule and work breakdown structure for projects • Leads risk and issue management activities throughout the project lifecycle. Discusses and prioritizes project issues with project team; leads in removing obstacles • Develop and manage resource management plan including identification of resource problems and capacity constraints and work with functional managers to resolve • Communicates project status, progress on deliverables and risks/issues to stakeholders and leadership in a timely manner • Lead project team through Lessons Learned activities and implement or escalate recommended changes • Ensures project team adheres standard practices and tools • Champions best practices and continuous improvement of project management, solution development and ITIL *Specialized Knowledge and Skills:* • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills • Strong experience in project planning, organizing, team motivation and delegation • Team player and able to work with and through others • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including technical leads, architects, technicians, developers, internal and external business partners in a multi-cultural, global, virtual team environment • Ability to influence others and move toward a common objective • Builds positive and effective relationships with individuals both internal and external to the IT organization • Goal oriented, self-directed, fast learner with ability to operate effectively in new environments • Able to work with tight deadlines in an ever changing environment • Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail • Budgeting and data analysis skills *Education/Experience:* • 7+ years’ experience leading teams through projects, project management and solution development best practices and in use of related tools • PMP Certification Preferred • Under graduate degree in Information Systems, Business or equivalent experience • Software project management experience preferred • Experience working in a major scheduling tool required; knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise Project Management tools preferred Regards, Ishan Salaria Sr. Technical Recruiter VSG Business Solutions 221 Cornwell Dr,Bear, DE 19701 Contact No: 302-261-3207 Ext: 102 Email: [email protected] <[email protected]> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Oracle Developers" group.
