The consultant must be able to provide a resume detailing extensive
experience with PowerBuilder applications.
*Job Description :*
• Work with agency’s IT staff for direction on tasks required to satisfy
business needs.
• Perform detailed system analysis to understand and identify the
programming changes required.
• Complete PowerBuilder programming tasks required for new releases and
daily operation of the system.
• Modify programs based upon the analysis done. New functionality needs
to have the same look and feel as the existing system. Document
programs changes and maintain a log for each item modified.
• Create and implement a test plan for quality assurance of all required
programming changes. Coordinate with agency IT and ACCES-VR staff
on all testing activities this to include programming changes as well
as hardware and system software updates.
• Assume responsibility for deploying the test and production system
releases. Activities include: tracking all changes included in each
release,
creating the Power Builder Dynamic library files and
creating/updating the deployment checklist. Perform ‘day of’ activities
including data
changes and verification of the completion of database replication.
• Assume responsibility for daily operational issues. Troubleshoot and
respond to daily operational issues.
• Plan and coordinate with IT Technical units on new software releases
and infrastructure updates. This will include activities related to
upgrading to the newest version of PowerBuilder, Oracle Enterprise
Manager and Windows 2008 server.
• Maintain a distributed client server PowerBuilder /Oracle system.
Identify procedures for deployment and rollback of new releases.
Document deployment procedures.
• Create documentation on use of WISE.
• Serve as the Clear Case administrator. Activities will include but may
not be limited to: create Clear Case installation procedures; ClearCase
account administration; create code check in/out procedures; create
rollback procedures; document all Clear Case procedures; upgrade to
new versions of Clear Case.
• Possess excellent technical writing skills as this is essential in
order to provide updates to the Technology Update (Build Release Notes).
The
Technology Update is the description of the changes contained in the
build and is the basis for end user training.
*Deliverables:*
• Modify and test system to include Federal RSA911 edits required for
the 2014-15 Federal Fiscal year.
• Deploy new 2014-15 system release to the system servers statewide
which includes code deployment and coordination of activities with IT
Technical units.
• Provide system support for daily operations.
• Create WISE documentation for use by IT administrators
• Create ClearCase documentation for use by IT administrators – this to
include PC installation instructions; account administration; rollback
procedures; code check in/out
• Provide Build Release Note documentation to be used in the system
Technology Update.
