The application is a critical, Tier 1 application, and is used 24/7. This resource will also perform application support and maintenance, participate in an on-call rotation, and perform activities such as analyzing application level monitoring tools (App Dynamics,) and configuring and troubleshooting web application containers (Tomcat.) Task Description: This individual will be part of a software development engineering team responsible for analyzing, developing, testing, implementing, and documenting software enhancements and fixes to a large application. Need to have an automation mindset, know how large scale applications work, be able to trouble shoot issues in production. Major Duties: · Provide software development expertise in developing a Network Monitoring platform · Analyze requirements, designs and develops software applications in client/server environment and/or web deployed applications · Interact with Project Manager to understand requirements and scope the systems · Participate in unit, integration, and system test procedures · Document final program and develop user instructions, software/hardware requirements, program input / outputs and execution / installation steps · Write and manage cron jobs for a large application · Read and analyze application level synthetic monitoring · Use monitoring tools like Zabbix, BAC, NSG, App Dynamics, Wiley · Hands on experience with manual and automated software deployments · Participate in on-call rotation · Handle multiple tasks - ensure that tasks are being completed in timely manner with limited direction · Participate in team meetings to discuss approaches to current projects · Comply with all established procedures and policies · Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance · Other functions that may be assigned *Minimum Requirements* · BS in Computer Science or equivalent · 2 - 5 years experience in Java, HTML5, JavaScript programming (Junior to Senior level) · 2 + years experience with MySQL, Oracle, PL/SQL and JDBC · 2 + years of experience Unix and Unix shell scripting · 1 – 2 years experience with monitoring tools such as Wiley, App Dynamics · Scripting experience as well as experience in configuration management, puppet tools, etc. · Experience with both frontend and backend web development · Experience in object oriented design · Experience with automated build environment, Jenkins, Maven or Ant · Experience with high transaction volumes, high data through put · Strong problem solving skills · Works well in a team environment · Excellent written and verbal communications skills · Strict adherence to development standards *Preferred Requirements:* · Experience with *HBASE, Hadoop* · Experience or knowledge of Cloudera, MapR, or HortonWorks · Experience with CM tools such as Puppet, MagNeto, Code Wash · Experience developing Network Monitoring applications · Experience in deployment & administering web application containers like Tomcat, Glassfish, WebLogic · Experience in developing, deploying and administering Java applications using JAVA, J2EE · Experience with high transaction/throughput processing in a highly available environment · “Automate everything” mindset · Strong interpersonal skills; capable of writing recommendations and interacting with company personnel on complex topics · Demonstrated experience of participating on teams of technical experts in a diverse, fast-paced, 7 x 24 environments · Proven experience meeting large deliverables with fixed and aggressive deadlines · Ability to present clear, concise reporting on concurrent projects and issues · Proven analytical and problem solving skills *DevOps Engineer #2* Task Description: · Build, configure, support and administer Jenkins and maven based system for · Continuous Integration and Inspection of Java /JEE applications · One click delivery system for Java /JEE applications o Create and Manage Docker Images for o Couchbase o Elasticsearch o Tomcat Java based systems: · Create and Manage Puppet configuration for · Couchbase bucket creation, view creation, XDCR configurations · CouchBase node configuration · Elastic Search index creation · Elastic Search node configuration · Tomcat instance configuration (like datasource, JVM arguments) · Deployments o Integrate Test Suite to Jenkins o Integrate Code coverage tool like Sonar o Create SVN Per-commit and Post Commit Hooks o Manage and support application servers like WebLogic , Jboss, Tomcat o Dev Ops support Java JEE applications o Support SCM – SVN Required Skill Sets: Jenkins, Puppet, Docker, SVN, Maven, Vagrant, Ruby, Continuous Integration, Continuous Inspection, Automated Delivery, Unix, Shell scripting/VM Desired Skill Sets: Java/JEE / Weblogic/Jboss, CouchBase (NoSQL)/Elastic (indexed search)/ Junit/Sonar/Selenium/Rest Services/Web services/python *Additional Notes*: They’re looking for a devops engineer to automate their processes, this person should have experience with noSQL technologies.
