6+ Months Job Description::*
The Contract Software Developer is responsible for planning, designing,
developing, testing, debugging, and documenting web application
functionality. The initial assignment for this contract position will be
adding features and modules to an existing proprietary web application used
by employees for forecasting resourcing needs. This effort will include
refactoring the existing PHP-based application into a more modular
architecture as features are added.
*Qualifications *
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
Successful candidates should possess 5+ years experience creating software
applications using technologies relevant to development needs.
Knowledge of and experience with the following is highly desired:
-PHP
-Experience with SQL and relational databases
-HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, React, Node
-Subversion, GitHub
-Windows environment, Linux, Apache Tomcat server
-Developing web applications using generally accepted software development
best practices, standards and techniques
-Advising project leads/clients regarding the complexity and effort
required for software development projects
-Agile development processes such as Scrum and Kanban as well as tools that
are used for agile development (JIRA)
-Usability and user interface design and experience incorporating that
knowledge in web applications
