Interfaces with user community ot understand their security needs and implements procedures to accommodate them. Position Competencies: Successful incumbents possess business acumen knowledge, creativity, have decision making skills, a drive for results, have the ability to negotiate and to develop peer relationships, and have a strong technical learning background. Position Responsibilities: CISA, CISSP, CRISC or other security certifications Under general direction, performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Interfaces with user community to understand their security needs and implements procedures to accommodate them. Ensures that user community understands and adheres to necessary procedures to maintain security. Requires familiarity with domain structures, user authentication, and host analysis. Conducts accurate evaluation of software and application level vulnerabilities. May require understanding of server operating systems and configuration. Risk review of applications, operating systems and system software. This role includes advising on managing risk and vulnerability analysis to identify and quantify security exposures. Process Risk Acceptances in accordance with established processes and procedures. Monitor Risk Acceptance status to ensure data and analysis remains current. Provide information and assistance in support of Federal Regulatory Exams, and reviews conducted by the Audit Office. Perform security vulnerability and threat analysis. The position is responsible for risk reviewing applications, systems, tools, and infrastructure that are assigned. Includes risk identification, assessment, evaluation, control monitoring and testing. Systems that are evaluated span across all departments and regions of the Client, affecting all lines of business. Manage relationships in all areas of IT and the lines of business. Responsible for ensuring those responsible for supporting host assets as well as the application owners are aware of current threats/risks associated with those assets. Follows somewhat diversified procedures and precedents in similar situations that generally follow well defined patterns. Has better understanding of theoretical and applied practices. Autonomy is less limited. Tasks are more varied and carried out under general instructions.
