You probably switch to another console and using 0.6 alpha, there is no speech 
feedback when this happens.
So sorry for this lack. 

In fact, there are currently four virtual consoles. The first one is used by the menu 
which starts Emacspeak or Yasr. And the three other ones proposes a shell without 
speech. 

So if you have no more speech, you could try to come back to the first console, in 
pressing the Alt key and the F1 key altogether. 

If there is still no sound, you may want under Emacspeak to restart the speech server 
using C-e C-s.

Finally, just a few more informations, we can switch to another console, e.g. the 
second one, using Alt and F2. 
Or if the current console is the first one, in pressing the Alt key and the right 
arrow key. 
The consoles are ordered, so Alt + the right arrow key selects the following ones and 
using the left arrow key, it selects the previous one.

As far as I know, the system might work without the monitor.
