OK, I know I've had a billion questions, but there's yet one more thing
driving me up the wall. If I run apt-get update, it seems to screw up my
kernel, because when I have to reboot the next time, I can't get it to
acknowledge my kernel for building the modem package. But if I don't run
apt-get update, I can't install some programs, because I get a 404 message.
And speaking of 404's, I get a 404 when I try to get that erc file. What
I entered is:
http://oralux.org/tmp/erc.tmp.el
I *think* I did that right.
