Ok, I don't know what else to tell you about the mail problem.
Usually internet providers will not allow you to "relay" or send
messages through their servers other than the ones that you are
connected to as part of your account.

Findout about the mail server from which you are sending mail. It
might be that this is not a pop, but an imap or some other kind of
server. When you know more, I can possibly help you with this.

It is also possible that you are behind a firewall or something that
might be keeping you from sending message to the outside. Find out
about this.

Now, in order to keep your files in a persistenthome directory, it has
to be on a physical medium large enough to store the files such as the
hard drive on the laptop you are using. It is possible to run Oralux
from the cd and have, if you wish, the entire hard drive of the
machine you are using available as the persistent home, complete with
your configuration files, ready when you are.

In order to set up the persistent home directory on a hard drive
partition, make sure that it is set up with a Linux native file system
on it. When this is done, you should be able to save files right on
there, including the configs.tbz and knoppix.sh files. You can use
this when you tell mkpersistenthome where you want the home
directory.

Hope this helps.
