We appreciate the feedback and wanted to let you know that Apple is currently investigating this issue. Unfortunately, changes to voices and the TTS synthesizer may require a major software update, such as the upgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 6. However, we will continue to work with the VoiceOver group in case any updates can be made to the Greek voice to improve your experience with iOS 6. Apple Accessibility To whom it may concern Few weeks ago, members of a mailing list of blind IOS users, who are native Greek speakers, started having significant problems with the Greek TTS, right after the upgrade to iOS 6.0 The newest version of Alexandros, the Greek voice, is extremely difficult to understand. There are issues of phonemic clarity and accuracy. Typing is out of the question as the feedback is usually wrong. The intonation is unnatural and the overall result is much worse than the previous version. The only reason this issue was not noticed while using Mountain Lion, is the fact that the users were using the new Greek TTS Melina instead of Alexandros. I would like to ask you to please revert to a previous version of Alexandros, the one used in IOS 5.11. Of course, the results would be optimal if you could use Melina instead of Alexandros. Even downloading Melina as a paid application would be acceptable. Blind iOS users use their phone as a reading tool and until there is a new and accessible upgrade, they can no longer enjoy reading books and news papers in Greek. I hope you will understand how serious this issue is for all Greek voiceover users. I rely on the fact that all Apple products are based on accessibility, not just in English but in all supported languages. I hope blind users will be able to actually enjoy the said accessibility again soon.
