Question -------- 1. How can I obtain and store the current date as a string into a form?
Since the XPath expressions are evaluated as XPath 2.0 expressions, instead of now() you can use the functions current-date() and current-dateTime().
See: http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath-functions/#func-current-date http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath-functions/#func-current-dateTime
