Sorry friends and colleagues, but I was chasing 
ghosts (I guess it's just that time of year...)

I can't explain why I was getting errors, nor why 
after very careful attempts to narrow down the problem
they persisted, nor why they are gone now.  
But that's what it is.

BTW, I did study the url-generator doc before my last message,
but it is was all inexplicable messages like "element cannot 
have attribute match" and such, which I can't now reproduce.
