As a follow-up to this issue: I have for now disabled this particular caching mechanism of the File serializer, since it was broken, and not extremely useful maybe in the first place. Unstable builds have this change in.

But I don't have a real fix yet, except that you can put a debug statement on the data input of the file serializer. This will cause the file to be rewritten every time.
