In a recent reply Alex indicated that "we are upgrading to Saxon 8.1.1 in the upcoming point release of Presentation Server."

Will this also support the schema aware version which we are considering purchasing at the moment.
If not do you have any plans in that area?

There is no major reason why it wouldn't work. Internally, Presentation Server uses a version of Saxon under the package org.orbeon.saxon, and even if you decide to use the schema-aware version for your own needs, Presentation Server can keep using its own version internally. In general, for your own stylesheets, you can use any processor that supports JAXP. You can even change the default XSLT processor in processors.xml.

Do you have a timescale for the 8.1.1 release yet?

It is in the unstable builds as we speak :-)

As for a point release, there is no timeframe now, as we think it's better to let things settle down for a few weeks with new Saxon-related changes. If you need a stable release sooner, that can always be arranged though.
