Hopefully someone can help me get some configuration details worked out.
The goal of this exercise is to get an OXF Application configured for
running\debugging within Eclipse.
The machine (my development box) has independent instances of Tomcat
at 2 versions:
4.1.12
and
5.0.27
The Java Runtime from Sun is version 1.5.
With this configuration (and the tweaks now mentioned in the orbeon
installation instructions) I have been able to get the Orbeon Presentation
Server (2.5.4) (orbeon.war) successfully running the included samples.
Then I installed Eclipse v3.01.
Using Eclipse update features I pulled down the OXF Studio plugin.
At this point however, the internal Tomcat instance chokes running an OXF
App:
root cause
"java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/xml/utils/NamespaceSupport2"

This is the same error I initially got when configuring an external version
of Tomcat and OXF to run on the 1.5 JRE.
Thus I suspect that I will not be able to run the default internal J2EE
Tomcat container from OXF Studio with JRE 1.5?
Or is there a "place" on the file system or in a jar file somewhere to
apply the preferred libraries to the internal container?

As a work-around for this (and preferred in general) I have tried to set up
a J2EE Tomcat adapter inside of Eclipse to point to the already existing
external 5.0.27 Tomcat instance.
To this end I installed the Sysdeo plugin for controlling Tomcat
(com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.0.0). This tool does successfully control the
desired 5.0.27 external instance of Tomcat.
However, inside of eclipse under Window\Preferences\[OXF J2EE Containers]
the only thing available is Internal Tomcat.
It is at this point that I am in a bit over my head and my ability to
properly interpret the provided documentation is in question.
Can somebody suggest what the "school solution" is for integrating an
external Tomcat instance with OXF Studio?
